Taking Care of Those Who Take Care of Us
Helping the Staff of Tracy's Tavern and Fremont Bar & Grill
There will be many who are being or will be impacted by the COVID-19 crisis. We, as followers of Christ, are called on to love our neighbors as ourselves, especially in times of suffering. In Matthew 25:36-40, Christ says:
"I was naked and you gave me clothing, I was sick and you took care of me, I was in prison and you visited me.’ Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or naked and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ And the king will answer them, ‘I tell you the truth, just as you did it for one of the least of these brothers or sisters of mine, you did it for me.’"
The bartenders and servers of our venues will be hit hard by the loss of work in the coming weeks. While we know many are impacted, taking care of our brothers and sisters at our venues is a good place to start.
All donations received by Sojourners Pub Church from 3/17/2020 - 4/3/2020 will be placed in to this fund, which will be distributed to each of the 13 gratuity-dependent servers and bartenders of Tracy's Tavern and Fremont Bar and Grill directly by Sojourners Pub Church. Any questions on transparency of donations and distribution, call Pastor Craig at 708-710-8508. You can donate easily by clicking the button below, or clicking on our Givelify button on our website and Facebook page and hit the "Taking Care Of Those Who Take Care Of Us" selection.
Our goal is $1,300 and, without trying to be presumptuous, we are asking for a recommended donation of $25. However, we know a lot of people will be impacted by this, and there is only so much to give, so any support is greatly appreciated!
We at Sojourners want you to know we are praying for all of you, and look forward to gathering with you again after this crisis has been resolved.
In Christ's Name,
Pastor Craig
